Sebastian Mallaby is the Paul A. Volcker Senior Fellow for International Economics at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). A two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, he is the author of six books, including More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite and The Power Law: Venture Capital and the Making of the New Future, which have become investment classics. His latest book is The Infinity Machine: Demis Hassabis, DeepMind, and the Quest for Superintelligence.

An experienced journalist and public speaker, Mallaby's interests cover a wide variety of domestic and international issues, including the technology sector, central banks, financial markets, the implications of the rise of newly emerging powers, and the intersection of economics and international relations. His study of American economic statecraft, The Man Who Knew: The Life & Times of Alan Greenspan, won the 2016 Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award and the 2017 George S. Eccles Prize in Economic Writing. Before joining CFR, Mallaby served eight years as a columnist and editorial board member at the Washington Post and spent thirteen years with The Economist, serving as Washington bureau chief (1997–1999). He also co-hosts the weekly CFR podcast The Spillover. Mallaby was educated at Oxford, graduating in 1986 with a first-class degree in modern history.

General (Ret) Timothy D. Haugh most recently served as the 4th Commander, U.S. Cyber Command and 19th Director of the National Security Agency. In these roles, Gen Haugh served as the National Manager for all federal government National Security Systems and led all DoD cyber operations.

A native of Hughesville, Pennsylvania, Gen (Ret) Haugh earned his commission in 1991 from the ROTC program at Lehigh University. During his career, Gen (Ret) Haugh commanded at the squadron, group, wing, numbered air force, and joint levels. His other notable tours included assignments as Deputy Commander of Joint Task Force Ares, Commander of Cyber National Mission Force, and Commander of Sixteenth Air Force.

In addition to earning his Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies from Lehigh University, Gen (Ret) Haugh holds Master of Science degrees from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the Naval Postgraduate School, and Southern Methodist University.

Gen (Ret) Haugh and his bride, Mrs. Sherie Haugh, have been married for more than 34 years, and have a son, daughter, daughter in law, and granddaughter.

Gen (Ret) Haugh also serves as the Blue Center Distinguished Fellow at the Yale University Jackson School of Global Affairs and is a Distinguished Fellow at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service; a Trustee at the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, and serves as an advisor to multiple companies.
